How to Apply
1. Prepare
-
MagicEzy 9 Second Chip Fix is water resistant. It is not recommended for use on areas continually submerged in water.
-
Add a drop of dishwashing detergent in a cup of water and scrub into damage, then rinse with clean water.
-
Allow to fully dry or use a hairdryer to accelerate drying time.
-
Massage/rotate the tube between hands to ensure even consistency.
HOW DO I ACHIEVE A GOOD COLOR MATCH?
Simply mix two or more colors to form a new color on a piece of transparent plastic wrap placed over the surface.
2. Apply
-
Have a tissue ready.
-
For plastic or aluminum surfaces, apply a thin coat of MagicEzy MegaFusion Primer/Sealant and allow to cure.
-
Apply a layer no bigger than ¼ inch (6mm) into the damage. Apply as many layers as needed to fill the damage, ensuring that each layers is dry (minimum 2 hours) before applying the next one.
HOW DO I APPLY IN HOT / COLD WEATHER?
In temperatures below 70ºF (20ºC), warm the surface for a couple of minutes with a hot hair dryer. In temperatures above 90ºF (30ºC), Cool the surface by laying a damp towel over the area before applying.
3. Level
-
Turn the tube around and gently smooth the repair with the patented ‘LEVEL’ at 90º. NB: Only a very light touch is required (as if the level is floating on air).
-
Clean the end of the LEVEL with the tissue.
HOW DO I GET A GLOSS FINISH?
Even though MagicEzy 9 Second Chip Fix has a matte finish, you can achieve a gloss look by applying a thin top coat of MagicEzy Hairline Fix.
4. Trim
-
Trim to remove smears outside the repair edge (but not the repair itself). Use a damp cloth or tissue to help clean-up if necessary.
-
Take your time and don’t keep touching the repair or the repair will look messy.
-
If required, a second coat can be applied after 2 hours.
-
Allow 24 hours for product to harden, however maximum strength and adhesion will be achieved after 7 days.
HOW DO I APPLY ON VERTICAL SURFACES?
To prevent slumping or for a faster dry time, use a hairdryer for 4 minutes to form a skin.
